"Vienna is an ideal location for shooting". Die Produzenten von WOMAN IN GOLD zeigen sich von den Dreharbeiten in Wien begeistert

Wien (OTS) - Bereits die zweite Woche dreht die englische
Produktionsfirma "Origin Pictures" den mit Helen Mirren ("The
Queen"), Ryan Reynolds ("Green Latern") und Daniel Brühl ("Rush")
hochkarätig besetzten Kinospielfilm "WOMAN IN GOLD" in Wien.

Die Produzenten David Thompson, Kris Thykier und Peter Heslop
zeigen sich mit dem Ablauf der Dreharbeiten hoch zufrieden: "We found
the whole experience of shooting in Vienna incredibly positive. We've
really enjoyed working with the Austrian crews, who are very talented
and dedicated, and we particularly have welcomed the support of the
Vienna Film Commission, without whom this film would not have been
possible. We have had invaluable support from our local coproduction
partner "2nd District Filmproduktion".

It was especially important for us to film this story in Vienna
since this is where so much of it took place. For example, in our
story we had to recreate, as accurately as possible, the moment when
the Germans entered Austria. We needed to make it visually authentic
to give powerful sense of what happened as experienced by our central
characters.

The production has employed more than one hundred local technical
crew, and featured more than one thousand local actors and extras. We
can only say that Vienna is an ideal location for shooting in, with
terrific local crews and wonderful locations. We very much look
forward to making other films here in the future. Vienna deserves to
be a favoured film making centre for international production."

Die Vienna Film Commission unterstützt nicht nur die laufenden
Dreharbeiten, sondern war seit Dezember letzten Jahres intensiv in
die Vorbereitungen für den Dreh involviert. Geschäftsführerin
Marijana Stoisits freut sich über das große Lob der Engländer: "Die
Dreharbeiten zu WOMAN IN GOLD sind die größten seit Bestehen der
Vienna Film Commission. Wir freuen uns sehr, dass unser
Serviceangebot auch international so große Wertschätzung erfährt."
Gedreht wurde bisher am St. Ulrichs-, Juden- und Rooseveltplatz, im
Rathaus, im Semperdepot, auf der Kaiserwiese, im Hotel Sacher, im
Konzerthaus und im Belvedere. Die Dreharbeiten finden noch in der
kommenden Woche statt und werden anschließend in Los Angeles
fortgeführt. Neben Wien wird auch in London und Los Angeles gedreht.
Produziert wird WOMAN IN GOLD auch von Oscar-Preisträger Harvey
Weinstein ("Shakespeare in Love", "Pulp Fiction", "Silver Linings
Playbook", "Django Unchained"), Service Produktion in Wien ist die
"2nd District Filmproduktion".
