Thomas A. Mueller (45) is the new Chief Financial Officer for Bank Sarasin & Co.
Ltd. He will take up his post on 1 May 2010, simultaneously heading up the
Corporate Center Division and joining the Bank´s Executive Committee. Thomas A.
Mueller was previously Group Chief Financial Officer & Chief Risk Officer for
the Swiss Life Group. He takes over as CFO from Matthias Hassels, who has
decided to leave Bank Sarasin after 12 years with the company to pursue a new
professional challenge.

Sarasin´s Board of Directors has made Thomas A. Mueller the Bank´s new Chief
Financial Officer, the Head of the Corporate Center Division and a member of the
Executive Committee. He will be in charge not only of Investor Relations,
Corporate Development and Corporate Finance, but also be responsible for the
entities Group Legal & Compliance, Human Resources, Group Finances, Controlling,
Risk Office, Credit and Tax. Thomas A. Mueller will report directly to Joachim
H. Straehle, CEO of Bank Sarasin. Thomas Mueller has over 20 year´s professional
experience in finance with banks and insurance companies. He also has proven
leadership skills at both management and executive board level.

Thomas A. Mueller
Born 1965; Swiss citizen, lives in Zug; Master degree in economics
(lic.rer.pol.) from the University of Berne, Master of Business Administration
(MBA) from IMD Lausanne.

Thomas A. Mueller began his career as Head of Asset & Liability Management with
Schweizerische Volksbank. After this bank´s integration into Credit Suisse, he
became Head of Treasury at Credit Suisse in Zurich from 1994 to 1997. In 1997 he
moved to Marc Rich Holding in Zug, where he was in charge of trading in
interest-rate instruments. From 2002 to 2005 he served as Chief Financial & Risk
Officer with Banca del Gottardo in Lugano, where he was a member of the
Executive Board. Before joining Bank Sarasin, Thomas Mueller spent three years
as Group Chief Financial Officer & Chief Risk Officer for Swiss Life Group. In
this capacity he was a member of the Corporate Executive Board in Zurich.
