Michael Haneke receives Guldbagge Award,
Sweden's most prestigious film prize
Stockholm (OTS) - At yesterday's gala of the Swedish film
industry, Michael Haneke received a Guldbagge (Golden-Beetle) Award
for his 2009 film The White Ribbon.
In Michael Haneke's absence, this award for best foreign film in
2009 was presented to German Ambassador Joachim Rücker and Waltraud
Dennhardt-Herzog, Chargé d'affaires at the Austrian Embassy, who
represented the director.
First presented in 1964, Sweden's Guldbagge film prizes were
instituted by Austrian expatriate Harry Schein, who was also a
founder member of the Swedish Film Institute.
