Berlin, November 3, 2009 - In accordance with the resolutions passed today, the
Management Board of Beta Systems Software AG, Berlin, (BSS, ISIN DE0005224406)
and the management of ECM Solutions GmbH, Berlin, intend to hive off Beta
Systems Software AG´s Enterprise Content Management (ECM) business and to
transfer it to ECM Solutions GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beta Systems
Software AG. The Supervisory Board of Beta Systems Software AG has today
approved the resolution of the Management Board.

The shareholders of Beta Systems Software AG will be asked for their approval of
the spin-off before the end of this year. The respective extraordinary meeting
of shareholders is likely to be convened at short notice in November and to take
place in December 2009.
