STA Launching Special News Portal on Economic Crisis

Ljubljana (OTS) - The Slovenian Service of the STA has launched a
special news portal focusing on the recession and the measures taken
against what is considered the world's most serious economic crisis
since WWII. A selection of the items posted on http://kr-og.sta.si is
also available as part of the English Service Special Coverage
section.

As of 1 September, the free-of-charge portal, named "Iz krize v
razvoj - ukrepi in odzivi" (Bridging the Crisis) and covered in
English under the Economic Turmoil section, will focus on the
measures Slovenia and other countries are taking to bridge the
crisis.

It will feature analyses of the situation in Slovenia, the EU and
the world, examples of best practice, as well as different reactions
and opinions by business people, entrepreneurs, economists, social
partners and politicians.

The news portal will also cover the latest developments in the
real sector and banking, crafts and trade as well as activities by
social partners and individuals.

The STA has put up the Bridging the Crisis news portal in
cooperation with a number of partners, including the Chamber of
Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS), Chamber of Commerce of
Slovenia (TZS), Chamber of Small Business and Trade, Manager
Association, relevant ministries of the Republic of Slovenia,
Institute of Macroeconomic Analysis and Development (IMAD),
Statistics Office (SURS), Public Agency for Entrepreneurship and
Foreign Investments (JAPTI), Public Agency for Technology, trade
unions, Employers' Association, Associations of Entrepreneurs and
Accounting Institute.

Standing out among today's featured items is an interview with
acclaimed economist Mojmir Mrak, which will also be available in
English.
