Hamburg, 28 July 2009. Pieter Wasmuth (43) will terminate his employment with
REpower Systems AG and resign as a member of the executive board of the company
in mutual amicable agreement as per 31 August 2009. The term of his service
contract was regularly to expire at the end of November 2009 but both parties
have mutually agreed on a termination as per 31 August 2009.

Mr. Tulsi Tanti, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, on behalf of the entire
Supervisory Board thanked Mr. Wasmuth for his valuable contribution to the
company in more than the past 4 years.

As the CFO of REpower Systems AG, Mr. Wasmuth has been responsible for
Controlling and Finance, Legal and Service and Maintenance.
