Heidelberg, 09. Oktober 2006 - Nach erfolgreichem Abschluss der
Kapitalerhöhung im Zusammenhang mit dem Erwerb der SYGNIS Bioscience GmbH & Co.
KG hat der Aufsichtsrat der LION bioscience AG heute mit Wirkung zum 10.
Oktober 2006 Dr. Alfred Bach in den Vorstand berufen. Er war zuletzt Vorstand
der Axaron Bioscience AG, die auf die Entwicklung von Medikamenten für das
zentrale Nervensystem spezialisiert war. Dr. Alfred Bach wird die Funktion des
CEO, Peter Willinger die des CFO der LION bioscience AG übernehmen.
Mit der jetzt erfolgten Eintragung im Handelsregister hat die LION bioscience
AG den im Juli diesen Jahres angekündigten vollständigen Erwerb der SYGNIS
Bioscience GmbH & Co. KG erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Als Folge hiervon hat sich
das Grundkapital der LION bioscience AG um Euro 7.807.535 von Euro 19.870.175
auf Euro 27.677.710 erhöht. Die nächsten Schritte für die weitere Entwicklung
des Unternehmens wird die LION bioscience AG auf ihrer ordentlichen
Hauptversammlung für das Geschäftsjahr 2005/2006 am 28. November 2006 in
Eppelheim präsentieren.
