Darmstadt, Germany, July 18, 2003 - The Supervisory Board of Software
AG has today named Karl-Heinz Streibich as the company´s new Chief
Executive Officer. Streibich will take up the post on October 1,
2003.

Karl-Heinz Achinger, acting CEO since December 1, 2002, will return
to the Supervisory Board, where he will resume his duties as deputy
chairman. The new CEO will continue with Software AG´s optimized
strategy.

Karl-Heinz Streibich (50) was previously a member of the Board of
Management (deputy chairman) of T-Systems International, and has over
two decades´ experience in the international IT service industry.

Before joining the Daimler-Benz group in 1989, Streibich, a
telecommunications engineering graduate, held management positions at
Dow Chemical and ITT in London and Germany. In 1996, he was appointed
to the Board of Management of debis Systemhaus GmbH. He was
subsequently appointed Chairman, in which capacity he oversaw the
merger with T-Systems between 2000 and 2002. At T-Systems
International, Streibich was Member of the Board of Management with
international responsability for IT services.
