"Expert mission in Prague and Temelin"
With trilateral participation of Austria, EC and CR
Wien (OTS) - On the basis of the agreement reached under the
Protocol of negotiation between the Czech and Austrian Government led
by Prime Minister Zeman and Federal Chancellor Schüssel with the
participation of Commissioner Verheugen, the expert mission with
trilateral participation of Austrian, EC and Czech Republic
representatives met in Prague and in Temelin on 15th and 16th March
2001. Czech delegation provided comprehensive presentation of
selected topics with regards to five nuclear safety issues of the NPP
Temelin, as identified on previous meeting in Vienna on February 2nd,
2001.
The written information with regards to other at Vienna meeting
identified safety issues was handed over to all participants. Czech
representatives extended an invitation to the next discussions on
some technical issues to be held prior final Brussels meeting. These
discussions will also be held with trilateral participation. Czech
delegation provided information of results of the IAEA OSART Mission,
presented by head of the mission. This information has been taken
into account for the following-up of the process.
It was tentatively agreed to hold the next meeting of the expert
mission in Brussels on May 14/15th 2001. All participants concluded
that the meeting hosted in Prague and in Temelin by Czech side met
the objectives agreed
under the Melk protocol and in Vienna on February 2nd, 2001."
