Ad hoc notification pursuant to § 15 of the German Securities Trading Act
(WpHG)

London, 7 January 2013 - Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, who has been Chief Strategy and
Planning Officer and member of the company's Management Board since 1 October
2012, will become Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors
of Air Berlin PLC on 7 January 2013. By mutual agreement with the Board of
Directors, Hartmut Mehdorn, who has been Chief Executive Officer on an interim
basis since 1 September 2011, will retire from this position and will continue
to serve as Non-Executive Director of the Board.
