Ahrensburg (euro adhoc) - Ahrensburg, March 3, 2011 - Basler AG - one of the
globally leading companies in vision technology - has received an order in the
single-digit million euro range for inspection systems from the world's biggest
manufacturer of LCD glass for flat panel displays. The proven and in the market
so far unsurpassed performance of Basler Sensic inspection systems was crucial
for the contract award to Basler. So far more than 150 units of Basler Sensic
inspection systems were installed in the LCD industry.

"This order marks another milestone for our solutions business and confirms our
leading position in the inspection of LCD glass for flat panel displays",
explains Dr. Dietmar Ley, CEO of Basler AG. "With this solution we help our
customer with establishing his leading production technology for LCD glass in a
new regional market."

In the past years, Basler AG received regularly major orders for the delivery of
LCD inspection systems to Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. The systems ordered now are
for the first time intended to be installed in China. The country represents a
strongly growing sales market that all leading LCD manufacturers want to address
in the coming years with own production facilities newly installed on site.

The portfolio streamlining in the solutions segment was successfully terminated
with the sales of the product lines for the inspection of optical media, solar
wafers, and rubber/elastomer sealings. The solutions segment is now fully
focusing on the inspection solutions for the LCD and PV thin film industries.
