Salzgitter (euro adhoc) - Today, Salzgitter AG will be presenting its first
corporate responsibility report (CR report) as a supplement to the company´s
annual report. The CR report provides condensed information on the ecological,
economic and social performance of the group.

The 60-page publication documents the multifaceted engagement of Salzgitter AG
in the topic areas of "Strategy & Values", "Markets & Innovation", "Environment
& Energy" and "Employees" and "Society", as well outlining the group´s basic CR
understanding.

The report is intended for shareholders, analysts, employees and potential
junior staff. It also addresses customers and business partners, opinion leaders
in the political arena and in public in-stitutions, as well as interested
members of the general public.

Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Leese, Chairman of the Executive Board of Salzgitter AG,
commented on the first CR report now issued: "With this report we would like to
document our commitment to sustainability that is reflected by many aspects in
the positioning of our company: we are progressive and innovative on the
markets, rooted in our home region and geared to sustainable structures and
growth. This is aptly expressed by the title of our CR report outlining our
societal contribution to sustainable development: Continuity through progress."
