Publication pursuant to section 26 sub-section 1, of the German Securities
Trading Act (WpHG)

1. The Hirzel III Trust, Guernsey, Channel Islands, rescinds the voting right
notifications submitted on May 3, 2007 and published on May 7, 2007. The Hirzel
III Trust did not hold any voting rights in Versatel AG, Berlin, Germany, on
April 26, 2007 and on May 2, 2007.

2. RBC Trustees (Guernsey) Limited, St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands in
their capacity as trustees of The Hirzel III Trust informed us pursuant to sec.
21, 22 of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG) that

- The voting interest within the meaning of sec. 21 para. 1a sentence 1 WpHG of
RBC Trustees (Guernsey) Limited in Versatel AG, Berlin, Germany on April 26,
2007 amounted to 68.18 % of the voting rights (30,000,000 shares). All such
voting rights are attributed to RBC Trustees (Guernsey) Limited in their
capacity as trustees of The Hirzel III Trust, a trust established under Guernsey
law, pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1, sentence 1 No.1, para. 3 WpHG from shares held
by Vienna II S.à.r.l., Luxembourg, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

- The voting interest within the meaning of sec. 21 para. 1 sentence 1 WpHG of
RBC Trustees (Guernsey) Limited in Versatel AG, Berlin, Germany on May 2, 2007
fell below the threshold of 50% and, on that date, amounted to 34.60% of the
voting rights (15,222,500 shares). All such voting rights are attributed to RBC
Trustees (Guernsey) Limited in their capacity as trustees of The Hirzel III
Trust, a trust established under Guernsey law, pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1,
sentence 1 No.1, para. 3 WpHG from shares held by Vienna II S.à.r.l.,
Luxembourg, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The voting rights attributed to RBC Trustees (Guernsey) Limited in their
capacity as trustees of The Hirzel III Trust are held through the following
companies and partnerships whose respective voting interest in Versatel AG
amounts to 3% or more respectively, whereby Apax Guernsey (HoldCo) Ltd.
(mentioned first below) is a company directly held by RBC Trustees (Guernsey)
Limited in their capacity as trustees of The Hirzel III Trust and the remaining
companies and partnerships mentioned below are, in turn, directly and indirectly
controlled by Apax Guernsey (HoldCo) Ltd.:

- Apax Guernsey (HoldCo) Ltd.;
- Apax Europe VI GP Co. Ltd.
- Apax Europe VI GP L.P.
- Apax Europe VI-A L.P.
- Apax WW Nominees Ltd.;

3. RBC Trust Company (International) Limited, St. Helier, Jersey, Channel
Islands informed us pursuant to sec. 21, 22 of the German Securities Trading Act
(WpHG) that

- The voting interest within the meaning of sec. 21 para. 1a sentence 1
WpHG of RBC Trust Company (International) Ltd. in Versatel AG, Berlin, Germany,
on April 26, 2007 amounted to 68.18% of the voting rights (30,000,000 shares).
All such voting rights are attributed to RBC Trust Company (International) Ltd.,
pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1 sentence 1 No. 1, para. 3 WpHG from shares held by
Vienna II S.à.r.l, Luxembourg, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

- The voting interest within the meaning of sec. 21 para. 1 sentence 1
WpHG of RBC Trust Company (International) Ltd. in Versatel AG, Berlin, Germany,
on May 2, 2007 fell below the threshold of 50% and, on that date, amounted to
34.60% of the voting rights (15,222,500 shares). All such voting rights are
attributed to RBC Trust Company (International) Ltd. pursuant to sec. 22 para.
1, sentence 1 No.1, para. 3 WpHG from shares held by Vienna II S.à.r.l.,
Luxembourg, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The respective voting rights attributed to RBC Trust Company (International)
Ltd. are held through the following companies and partnerships whose respective
voting interest in Versatel AG amounts to 3% or more respectively, whereby (i)
RBC Trustees (Guernsey) Limited (see lit. (a) below), is directly controlled by
RBC Trust Company (International) Ltd., (ii) Apax Guernsey (HoldCo) Ltd. (see
lit. (b) below), is a company directly held by RBC Trustees (Guernsey) Limited
in their capacity as trustees of The Hirzel III Trust, a trust established under
Guersey law, and (iii) the remaining companies and partnerships mentioned below
are, in turn, directly or indirectly controlled by Apax Guernsey (HoldCo) Ltd.:

a) RBC Trustees (Guernsey) Limited in their capacity as trustees of The
Hirzel III Trust;

RBC Finance B.V. in Versatel AG, Berlin, Germany on April 26, 2007 amounted
68.18% of the voting rights (30,000,000 shares). All such voting rights are
attributed to RBC Finance B.V., pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1 sentence 1 No. 1,
para. 3 WpHG from shares held by Vienna II S.à.r.l., Luxembourg, Grand Duchy of
Luxembourg.

- The voting interest within the meaning of sec. 21 para. 1 sentence 1 WpHG of
RBC Finance B.V. in Versatel AG, Berlin, Germany on May 2, 2007 fell below the
threshold of 50% and, on this date, amounted to 34.60% of the voting rights

the Royal Bank of Canada in Versatel AG, Berlin, Germany on April 26, 2007
amounted 68.18% of the voting rights (30,000,000 shares). All such voting rights
are attributed to Royal Bank of Canada, pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1 sentence 1
No. 1, para. 3 WpHG from shares held by Vienna II S.à.r.l., Luxembourg, Grand
Duchy of Luxembourg.
