Dr. Georg Müller appointed as CEO of MVV Energie AG

Mannheim, 23 October 2008. At its meeting held today, the Supervisory Board of
the publicly listed company MVV Energie AG appointed Dr. Georg Müller, a 45
year-old lawyer, to be CEO of MVV Energie AG for a five-year period. Dr. Müller
is therefore expected to succeed Dr. Rudolf Schulten, who is leaving the
Mannheim-based energy distribution and service company to become CFO at the
energy supplier EnBW at the beginning of 2009, with effect from 1 January 2009.

Dr. Müller is currently CEO of RWE Rhein-Ruhr AG in Essen.
