Hajo Riesenbeck resigns from Supervisory Board chairmanship and presidency of
GfK Nürnberg e.V., to leave both boards as of 26 September 2008

The Management Board of GfK AG (ISIN DE0005875306, Prime Standard) announces
Mr. Hajo Riesenbeck's decision to resign from his positions as Chairman of the
Supervisory Board and President of GfK Nürnberg e.V. as of 26 September 2008,
the date of the next Supervisory Board meeting, because of differing views on
the growth course of the GfK Group, and to leave both boards as of the same
date.

Management Board and Supervisory Board thank Mr. Hajo Riesenbeck for his
dedicated commitment to the GfK Group.

The Supervisory Board of GfK AG will elect Mr. Riesenbeck's successor at its
next meeting on 26 September 2008.
