In 2006, init innovation in traffic systems AG attained the best results in
terms sales and profitability in its entire history. According to preliminary
figures (IFRS), the operating result before interest and taxes (EBIT) improved
to 5.5 mill. Euro (2005: 4.2 mill. Euro). While exceeding the prior-year record
by 30 percent, it also tops projections by approximately 20 percent (4.6 mill.
Euro).
The net profit increased even more significantly on the previous year, by
approximately 31 percent to 3.4 mill. Euro (2005: 2.6 mill. Euro). This results
in net earnings per share of 0.36 Euro (2005: 0.26 Euro).
At 36.3 mill. Euro, the sales revenues also rose by 8,5 percent above the
previous record in 2005 (33.4 mill. Euro). The Karlsruhe-based complete supplier
of telematics and electronic fare collection systems for buses and trains thus
managed to improve its EBIT margin to over 15 percent (2005: 12.6 percent).
This improvement is due on the one hand to the equipping of vehicle fleets with
related economies of scale, but is also the result of drastically tightened cost
of production.
The current fiscal year is expected to continue the impressive growth dynamics
of init. At 61.1 mill. Euro, the cushion of existing orders as at the end of
last year was still up by 12,3% on the previous year (54.4 mill. Euro).
The final figures for the 2006 fiscal year, the complete annual report and the
prospects for 2007 will be published at the press conference on financial
statements on March 28.
