Generali Holding Vienna AG:
Withdrawal from Stock Exchange enters the Final Stage

The squeeze-out split unanimously agreed by the General Meeting of Generali
Holding Vienna AG on 18 May 2006 was registered in the companies register at
Vienna trade court today, 14 July 2006. Consequently, the cash settlement of
EUR 52 per share and the additional cash payment of EUR 51 in respect of each
no-par share held in GHV-Split Vermögensverwaltung AG, founded in the course of
the split, can be paid out to the free-float shareholders from Monday, 17 July
2006.

The transaction will be handled by Erste Bank der oesterreichischen Sparkassen
