London, 16 February 2010 - With regard to the statements of its Austrian partner
Mr. Andreas Nikolaus Lauda published in the Austrian press Air Berlin PLC states
as follows:
Air Berlin PLC is in advanced negotiations regarding the increase of Air Berlin
PLC's shareholding in NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH, Vienna. The negotiations have not
been completed yet and Air Berlin PLC has not yet obtained the approval of its
board of directors. A board meeting is scheduled for tomorrow 17 February 2010.
