Vienna (Austria), March 4, 2010 (euro adhoc) - Intercell AG (VSE: ICLL) today
announced that Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization (JCVI) in the UK
has recently updated the Japanese Encephalitis chapter of Immunisation against
infectious diseases ("Green Book") to recommend the use of IXIARO® for
individuals aged 18 years and older to protect individuals for high risk of
exposure during travel or in the course of their occupation. This decision
follows the expanded recommendations of the US Advisory Committee on
Immunization Practices (ACIP) in 2009. Further national specific recommendations
in Europe are expected for the year 2010.

Novartis are materializing now also in Europe with the first country specific
recommendations. Especially for novel travel vaccines recommendations are key to
foster disease and product awareness and thus increasing vaccination rates and

Intercell's novel Japanese Encephalitis vaccine is a purified, inactivated
vaccine for active immunization of adults against the Japanese Encephalitis
virus.
