NU-NS threatens with new election

Kiew (OTS) - One of the leaders of the pro-presidential party Our Ukraine - People’s Self Defence, Vyacheslav Kirilenko has declared new elections for the Supreme Council if the parliament, in session since September 30th, does not remove deputies’ immunity and privileges. Kirilenko made the statement on TV channel ICTV. Answering the question whether the NU-NS delegates in the new parliament would give up their powers if the new session of the Supreme Council does not pass a law removing deputies’ immunity and privileges within six months, Kirilenko said that their powers will be cancelled and thereby also lost by those who oppose the legislation.

"We have warned the Party of Regions that if they do not vote for our law removing deputies’ immunity within 6 days - and not 6 months - a new election will take place and the people will pass judgment," he said.

It is clear that nothing has changed in the pro-presidential camp in their policy of fomenting permanent political crisis and their preparedness to use the 150-mandate factor.
