Are profits unethical?

Wien (OTS) - More and more firms are transferring their activities to low-wage-countries, which adds to the high unemployment in so called highly developed countries. Politicians are beginning to complain about this, appealing for more social responsibility on the side of capital holders.

The responsibility of capital holders is - in the long run - to make profits. Shareholders are acting according to their individual interest, and the present situation is a very typical one for the case of exceeding unintentional side effects, where individual decisions do not add up to the common best outcome.
