"Strukturpolitische Herausforderungen in Europa"

Wien (OTS) - Die diesjährige Ost/West-Konferenz der Oesterreichischen Nationalbank steht unter dem Titel "Strukturpolitische Herausforderungen in Europa". Die Konferenz findet von 3. bis 5. November 2002 im Hotel Intercontinental in
Wien statt.

Die diesjährige Ost-West-Konferenz beschäftigt sich
einerseits mit einer Bestandsaufnahme strukturpolitischer Reformerfordernisse und der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der EU und der mittel- und osteuropäischen Beitrittskandidaten. Andererseits behandelt die Konferenz die Frage der Finanzierung der EU-Erweiterung und gibt mit einer abschließenden
Podiumsdiskussion über die künftige Position Europas in der Weltwirtschaft einen Ausblick in die Zukunft. Als Referenten und Diskutanten konnten hochrangige Vertreter aus Zentralbanken, europäischen und internationalen Organisationen sowie der Wissenschaft gewonnen werden.

Eröffnet wird die Konferenz durch den Gouverneur der Oesterreichischen Nationalbank, Dr. Klaus Liebscher. Die Leitung
der Diskussionsrunden führen Vize-Gouverneurin Dr. Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell, hohe Vertreter aus internationalen
Institutionen und der Wirtschaft sowie weitere Führungskräfte
der OeNB.
