Air Berlin: Double-digit revenue growth for October

Berlin (euro adhoc) - Over the period from January to October 2008, Air Berlin
transported a total of 24,810,294 passengers, i.e. 2.1 percent more than in the
corresponding period of the previous year (2007: 24,308,820 passengers). Fleet
capacity utilization for the first ten months of the year rose from 78.1 to 79.3
percent, i.e. an increase of 1.2 percentage points.
For the month of October 2008, Air Berlin increased its revenue per available
seat kilometre ("Yield per ASK") to 6.20 Eurocents (10/2007: 5.13 Eurocents),
i.e. an increase of 21 percent. Revenue per available seat kilometre improved,
even though the accumulated number of passengers transported declined by 4.4
percent to 2,703,179 (2007: 2,826,198 passengers), due to a targeted capacity
reduction of approximately 80,000 seats. Fleet capacity utilization for the
month of October declined by 1.6 percentage points and reached 80.1 percent.
